Summer Camp: Forest Home 2007

Summer Camp was a blast! Check out the video and see for yourself. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers while the youth group was at camp. Everyone was safe and healthy the entire week, and each one of the students was truly moved by the week at camp. Thank you to everyone who supported the youth by purchasing a drink from the coffee cart, buying a carwash ticket, or writing a check, without you guys this week would not have been complete.

Johns Adventures

I have not posted a blog for almost two weeks, and I have been missing my blogs just as much as you. Last week I was at summer camp and this week I have been in Mexico fishing with my dad. Camp was amazing, it was a week filled with fun and new friendships. Fishing was just as good, my dad and I both caught tons of fish and enjoyed spending time together. I miss Craig’s list and email almost as much as I have missed blogging and I am thankful to be back online this morning.

Fish Fish Fish

I went fishing again. My entire family and Stephanie all joined me. We went out with the church for the Family August of Activities. How fun. Check out this Calico Bass I caught, pretty cool. I am going to be at camp the 19th – 25th of august so I wont have a blog posted for a week! Sorry… Check back on the 25th for a report on how camp went.

Paintball

Paintball was insane. Everyone had a great time. The 100 plus degree heat could not get us down. Check out this cool picture of me looking aggressive in the parking lot. Just wanted to drop a paintball update!

Paintball Tomorrow

I am ready for paintball tomorrow. I have been wearing my protective mask all day to get pumped up. I can’t wait to play and I hope that lots of the youth are excited too. The weather should be perfect!

No Starbucks...

My day has been off to a rough start. I am officially not drinking starbucks (and other caffeinated beverages) so that means I am sad. Whenever I simply forget to drink crazy amounts of caffeine during my day all is still good, but when I make a deliberate effort, that’s when things get hard. Strange the way my mind works (most of you have been thinking that for a while). Last night was the church beach party, what fun. It was a gorgeous evening and we had tons of firewood (blazing fire pictured). Oh yeah, I still need a few paintball players so if you are interested call me at 951-689-5806.

This week

This week has been a blur. I have been busy at work, busy at home, and trying to do a few things to keep my social life together as well. Monday I played 36 holes of golf at the beautiful PGA Southern California. Golfing for 8 hours sounds fun but after all is said and done it is hard. Tuesday I worked all day getting one of the churches vans in shape to drive the youth to the beach on Wednesday. Wednesday of course was the youth surf trip. It was great; I think the sun got to me (as pictured). A few kids learned to surf while others worked on their skills. I lounged around, played volleyball, and pushed kids into waves all day long. As you can imagine I also paddled out and took a few waves myself. Now I am gearing up for the youth paintball trip next Wednesday. You should come and join us, it is going to be a great day, give me a call if you are interested 951-689-5806. Sorry for going into a non-blog slump. In the next few days I will have a lot to say.

What a bunch of clowns

The churches august of activities kicked off last night at the circus and it was fun for the whole family. I loved the tigers because the entire time they looked like they wanted to eat the trainer. The best act of the night was the dog show, yes strange I know, but those dogs. One of the dogs did like 25 back flips in a row. If you missed the circus make sure to join us for the beach party, deep sea fishing, or the angel’s baseball game.

Six Flags!

What a day. I always enjoy going to Magic Mountain with the youth group and yesterday was no exception. Everyone had a blast. I taught a mini science lesson on Superman the ride and made a few youth stand on the bridge over Tidal Wave (a very wet water ride). It wouldn’t have been a successful trip without great leaders and a lot of youth willing to go on crazy rides. I even pulled out a few dance moves. The day ended with a last minute stop at In and Out burger, and then a long drive home (lots of times I think the kids like the drive more than the actual event). Six Flags was awesome, and the youth august of activities are off to a great start!
