Pray for Amanda!

Amanda is leaving tomorrow for a 3 week mission trip with BIOLA (Bible Institute of Los Angeles). Please pray for her teams safety and that God uses them in ways they never dreamed. All of our students are so excited for Amanda, and I personally can't believe how fast students grow up and the different directions God takes them. Pray for Amanda.

Accept,
John

I can't wait for Amanda to get back and share with us about her experience!

Jackets for Jesus Christmas Party (Homeless Ministry)

Last night was our 20th annual Christmas party on skid row in Los Angeles. My dad, Eric Denton, has been feeding homeless on the Streets of LA every Sunday night for the last 20 years. Hundreds of volunteers joined the Jackets for Jesus team last night for a great party on the streets. We handed out over 700 backpacks full of clothes, food, and other items a homeless person might need plus served food as normal. Here are a few pictures from our night. Thanks to all of the great volunteers who came out.

25 Years Old (My Birthday).

It's strange how I keep on getting older. I used to be mistaken for a student in the youth group not the youth pastor. Now it is not uncommon for students to ask me if I am 30? Time fly's. Today I am celebrating my birthday by taking a 2 hour College Algebra final (my last class ever... or at least until I start graduate work), hanging out with the youth group at our Thursday night gathering, and then finishing my day at my parents house for dinner and cake. Tomorrow Stephanie is taking the day off to hang out with me so that should be great.

Accept,
John

Thanks for decorating my cubical Julia!

My Thanksgiving.

Stephanie made me a nice card.
After working at our Churches dinner we drove to Hemet to be with Steph's family at her grandmothers. Pictured is Heather (Stephanie's sister) and Steph.
Then we drove to my Aunts (Steph is holding Reggie in the very back of the group)
After a long day of shopping yesterday we drove to the Mission Inn for the festival of lights.

1-800-GOOG-411 (Free 411 Informaiton from Google)

My dad just walked into my office and had a complaint about his phone services 411. They no longer connect you to your call, and they are now charging $1.79 for information assistance. I said, "Dad why don't you call GooG-411" and the rest is history. Call 1-800-GOOG-411 and receive free 411 assistance, text messages with information sent to your phone (standard text rates apply), and online directions sent to your smart phone. All free. I added GooG-411 as a contact in my dad's phone and he put it on speed dial. Free 411 assistance for life! Watch the you tube video for all the details.

Stephanie and I went house shopping Sunday afternoon.

The UCR (Tyrone Wells Concert).

Tyrone Wells is awesome. Great music. Good times. Plus the concert was free (and there was free chips and salsa!). Pictured is the clock tower at UCR.
Tyrone is most likely playing 'Sea Breeze' at this moment in the night. The Barn was not crowded at all and Steph and I sat in the front row.
After the show Tyrone hung out and chatted for a bit. We talked about our wedding and youth ministry. It was great night. For more about UCR's concerts go to www.kucr.org. Check out Tyrone Wells on iTunes, he releases a new album December 9th.

A Welcome Sign

While you were sleeping (or here in southern California; While you were sitting in traffic on the freeway) I was waiting for the sun to rise and my day to start. It was a cold morning but quickly warmed up with the sun rise.

Surfing.

So every blog I've read today has had a nice picture of the surf, I figured I would keep the ball rolling (I have only read 'surfy surfy' that might explain it). I spent my early morning enjoying nice waves and great weather. I hope your day off is going to be as refreshing as mine.

Maybe I should stick to fishing?

Pastor Ken has been cleaning out and archiving photos for the last few days. It's always fun and scary at the same time. You never know once he has them scanned where you will see them next. Ken has a great sense of humor.
