30 Hour Famine.

Today at noon we start fasting for World Visions 30 Hour Planned Famine. Should be a great weekend of learning. Students are responsible for not eating from 12 noon to 7pm today. At 7pm we meet in our youth building for concert a guest speaker. Then tomorrow we have a day of work projects, until 6pm when we break our fast. I love this event.

Wil Denton: 9/10/1914 to 2/17/2009
From a past blog:
"Will Denton, is a heroic icon within our family. Up until two years ago he golfed multiple times during the week and was very active. Two years ago he had a major stroke. Sense then, he has suffered many small strokes and is struggling with remembering people and events throughout his life. My grandfather played major league baseball up until World War II. In World War II he liberated Jews from the concentration camps of Germany. After returning from World War II he entered into the fulltime ministry and started a church in Long Beach, California, He pastored the church for the entirety of his ministry. After retiring he started a donut shop in Long Beach and hired many family friends to work there (the donut shop didn’t last long). Three years ago I had the opportunity to return to my grandfather’s home town of Princeton, Indiana and visit the house where he grew up, his high school, and the grave of his parents. My grandfather and I had a fantastic time together on the trip. In Short my grandfather is one of the greatest men I know."
We all will miss him. Thank you for your prayers.

A week without a blog is a sad week.
This week my goal was to get out of my office. I kind of reached it. On Wednesday I handed out cans of soda and flyers for SNY (Sunday Night Youth). Friday I went over to the CBU campus and handed out flyers for our college gathering. Two out of 7 days, I did what I set out to do. The strange thing is, I concederd this a small victory.

7 years with Stephanie
What could happen in seven years? My senior year of High School I started dating one of my best friends, Stephanie Lee. I went to college, she went to college. She graduated and then I graduated. I had a job she got a job. She went to Ireland, came home, and I proposed. Now we are engaged to be married April 27th of this year. Our new house is in escrow and should close in the next two weeks. Seven of the happiest years of my life, and the future looks even brighter. Steph, thanks for seven amazing years together.
